”Every single time I smile, my lips crack open and bleed. Every single time I’m laughing, it ends up in a cough.
Comedy is an extremely powerful thing. People can laugh, even for just a moment, while living in any kind of misery and in that one soaring moment you get a relief from all your troubles. Imagine being afraid to smile. Imagine being afraid to laugh. There’s no chance for relief. That is how I personally feel in society today. We work for companies that doesn’t care at all about us and yet we form our whole lives around them. We wake up inhumanely early in the morning by a screaming alarm clock to spend our day breaking our knees, back and mind for people who would gladly make us do it all for free if they could. And yet we give at least eight hours a day and at least five days a week for them. And what do we do with the salary? We spend it either on mundane things like bills, or on pointless things like anything containing sugar.
What are we left with? Not happiness.
My question is essentially this; is anybody truly satisfied with their lives?
